Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America and it is known for its crystal clear waters and the beautiful forests and mountains of the Sierra Nevada that surround it. People come from far and wide to swim and sail and boat in its pristine waters during the warmer months and hike and bike its many mountain trails. Once the winter snows arrive people come to the area to ski and snowboard at one of its many famous ski resorts. Not only is it one of the most beautiful locations to visit in both California and Nevada, where it is located, but it is also a place with a rich history and many fun activities to enjoy.
